About sarah the flower girl
I started my floristry career as a teenager completing a three-year City and Guilds training course at Brinsbury college in West Sussex. I was then fortunate enough to work in a wonderful, family run, shop in Cranleigh called Bradley’s. The owner was an amazing florist with years of experience. She gave me the confidence to try new things and taught me the foundations of the style I still use today. We would take part in regular competitions, through Interflora, which was great fun, excellent experience and extremely competitive. We even won a few! Even back in the 1980s we were using quality flowers along with rustic foliage, moss and twigs to push ourselves with new styles and techniques. I worked there for thirteen years before leaving to start my family and we still remain close friends.
A few years ago I decided to get back into the floristry, but COVID hit, so I started my own business out of the hut in my garden. I still strongly believe in quality work and learning new skills, so during covid, I signed up for online workshops in wedding work to expand my knowledge. I will always try my best to meet my customers wishes no matter how crazy they might seem as there will be something new to learn.
